Valentine’s Performance

Thursday February 13th from 4pm-4:30pm the violins/violas/celli will be at the Memory Care Center in Hickory for a short performance and we will pass out home made Valentine’s Day cards to the residents. Please arrive early to tune and let your teacher know in advance if you would like to participate. For safety reasons they have locks on the doors that only Memory care staff can open. Concert dress is red polo shirts and black pants. Last year this performance had one of the most appreciative audiences that we’ve ever had.

Practice Tip of the Week

Go Fishing - Instead of plain cards, put the pieces or tasks on cards cut in the shape of fish. Attach a paper clip on each fish, and put a magnet on a string attached to a "pole" and go fish for the next piece.

Every year our students get a chance to perform a piece in recital format in front of friends and family. We will have sign-up sheets for solo recitals available in your lesson soon. There will be a short reception after each recital. This is a great chance to film your child performing with an accompanist. This year Elizabeth Dellinger will be accompanying students.
