Suzuki School of the Arts Notes for the Week December 10th-14th, 2018 Regular Lesson Week

Inclement Weather-

Be sure to contact your teacher directly to see if he/she is teaching the day that you have a lesson. Please let the teacher know if it is unsafe for you to leave home due to weather/road conditions.

Christmas Concert December 18th

Tuesday December 18th we will have our Annual Christmas Concert in the Family Life Center Fellowship Hall. Please wear either your favorite Christmas outfit OR your Suzuki Polo shirt and black pants/skirt. Please arrive by 6pm to tune and get placed. We will have a reception following the concert, Suzuki School will provide paper products and punch. Please bring your favorite Christmas finger food to share.

Quilt Raffle

A local quilter, Jan Brown has donated a beautiful handmade quilt for Suzuki School to raffle. Tickets are $5 and the quilt is carefully displayed outside the Suzuki Office. The Drawing will be at the Christmas Concert.

Barnes and Noble Bookfair- December 22nd

We invite you to shop at Barnes and Noble December 20th-22nd in order to help fundraise for Suzuki School. We have papers with our school code on them that you present at the register. It’s an easy way to take care of your Christmas shopping and help our school! More details to come.

Statewide Play In

Saturday January 26th, Winterville NC (just outside of Greenville NC)

Please visit http://www.ncsuzuki.org/statewide-play-in.html for information about registration fees (due before January 12th), repertoire lists, parking, and schedule of events. Nan Freeman will be teaching master classes there (for an extra fee) as will Pamela Bath Kelly on Friday January 25th in the evening. If you have questions please email ncsuzukiassociation@gmail.com

Jam Day- Bluegrass, Newgrass, Gospel, and Old Time, Acoustic Instruments

With Cane Mill Road

February 23rd 10am-5pm at St Luke’s UMC in the Fellowship Hall. $5 admission, children 8 and under are free with an adult purchasing a ticket. Don’t know how to Jam? We’ll teach you! 10am-12pm Jam Education and rules, 1pm-3pm Jam time, 3pm-5pm open mike. This is an informal family centered event and anyone is welcome to come and enjoy. We especially encourage our Suzuki Families to attend the open mike session and be a supportive audience. More details to come!
